Region
Grenache forms the backbone of southern Rhône blends, including Châteauneuf du Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueyras. The vast area of Côtes du Rhône offers a great diversity of soils, microclimates and a variety of grapes to create a range of styles at all quality levels. The aromatic dessert Muscat de Beaumes de Venise, is fragrant and sweet.
Producer
The family owned domaine is situated in the very heart of the Cote du Rhone, by the picturesque village of Seguret, and flanked by the vineyards of Gigondas. The property extends to 50 hectares and is managed by Jean Pierre Verdeau and his son Christian.
Tasting (Long)
A fresh and vibrantly fruity Southern Rhone blend, which is made predominantly from Syrah with the addition of Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault. The spice and smoky aromas of the Syrah dominate the bouquet, whilst red fruits and spice compete on the palate.
Tasting (Short)
The spice and smoky aromas of the Syrah dominate the bouquet, whilst red fruits and spice compete on the palate.
Food
A good accompaniment to pates, grilled or roast meats, sausages, chilli and mild cheeses.
