Region

The Médoc region stretches from the city of Bordeaux, following the gravel and clay soils of the west bank of the Gironde River all the way to the coast, some 100 miles further north. It encompasses the superior sub-region of Haut- Médoc to the south

Producer

This family owned business has been established for over 100 years, sourcing quality wines from the Bordeaux region. The vineyards for their `Reserve Claret` are situated mainly near Castillon la Bataille, where chalky clay soil is well suited to the Merlot grape variety.

Tasting (Long)

A powerful, rich and complex claret with a core of ripe Cabernet Sauvignon contributing notes of blackcurrant, raspberry and blueberry. Full bodied and well structured, there is ample black fruit held by firm yet supple tannins and hints of cedar wood and vanilla.

Tasting (Short)

Full bodied and well structured, there is ample black fruit held by firm yet supple tannins and hints of cedar wood and vanilla.

Food

This sturdy Médoc is more than capable of holding its own with all kinds of game and red meat and very satisfying with mature cheese.
