Region
The Languedoc is a vast region stretching across much of the south and Mediterranean and is France`s single largest vineyard entity for its Vins de Pays wines. Within the Languedoc lie several distinctly identified Vins de Pays (including the l`Aude, Gard and Hérault) and many generic appellations that maintain traditional local blends and wine styles such as Minervois, Corbières, Pic Saint Loup and Fitou.
Producer
Sacha Lichine is a man of pedigree. His father, of Russian descent, and American mother, had built their wealth and reputation with a Bordeaux business which included Chateaux Prieurie Lichine and Lascombes in Margaux. Sacha Lichine has continued with the family tradition for innovation, by drawing on his wide experience of winemaking and his keen understanding of consumer needs a range of contemporary Mediterranean wines with the ‘chicken’ labels, whose fruit forward style makes them immediately enjoyable. They are southern French with a distinct New World accent.
Tasting (Long)
Sacha Lichine`s Mediterranean wines are made with the assistance of Patrick Leon (winemaker for Chateau Mouton Rothschild). This wine combines French wine-making and elegance with the exotic richness of the new world. Aromas of peach, grapefruit and mango are mirrored on a well balanced palate with a delicate hint of vanilla on the finish.
Tasting (Short)
Aromas of peach, grapefruit and mango are mirrored on a well balanced palate with a delicate hint of vanilla on the finish.
Food
