Region

The combination of sand and gravel soils found in this area of southern Médoc are ideal to support both Cabernet Sauvignon and a high proportion of Merlot. The Margaux appellation always produces wines with a fragrant bouquet, supple texture and feminine softness.

Producer

This estate is one of the oldest in Margaux, and has had a chequered history. The Sichel family purchased the estate in 1961 and has revived the fortunes of this pretty lakeside chateau. The combination of sand and gravel soils found in this area of southern Margaux are ideal to support both Cabernet Sauvignon and a high proportion of Merlot.

Tasting (Long)

Moulin d`Angludet is made from the same vineyards and with the same dedication as Chateau Angludet itself. The strict selection in vineyard and from cask ensures the finished wine shares the same finesse, complexity and elegance of a fine Margaux. The incredible 2009 vintage resulted in perfect ripeness and a perfumed bouquet of red fruits with earthy undertones. Supple dark fruits, licorice and spice notes are held by assertive but ripe tannins that ensure Moulin d`Angludet can be enjoyed when young but will also allow further maturation.

Tasting (Short)

A perfumed bouquet of red fruits with earthy undertones gives way to supple dark fruits, licorice and spice balanced by assertive ripe tannins.

Food

A good match for fine cuts of beef, roast lamb, wild mushrooms, game including venison, boar and hare and well flavoured cheeses.
