Region

The biggest and most important of Argentina`s wine regions, Mendoza includes a wide variety of altitudes and micro-climates to allow a huge range of wine styles. Many early winemakers were of Italian origin and brought with them their native Barbera, Bonarda and Sangiovese. However, it is Malbec, originally from Bordeaux and the south west of France, that has established the most successful presence in Mendoza.

Producer

Unsurprisingly perhaps, given their Bordeaux pedigree, Jacques and Francois Lurton chose careers in wine. In their pursuit of quality and excellence they arrived in Argentina in the early 1990s and today have built an enviable reputation for producing some of the finest examples of varietal wines. This Pinot Gris (or Grigio) is selected from fruit grown on the hillside slopes in Valle de Uco, south of Mendoza.

Tasting (Long)

This wine has a bouquet of peach, apricot and raisin, discreet fruitiness and a complex rich taste. It is round and fresh on the palate, with a delightful after taste. Best enjoyed young.

Tasting (Short)

Bouquet of peach, apricot and raisin, round and fresh on the palate.

Food

Superb with Asian influenced foods. Serve well chilled.
