Region
The Languedoc is a vast region stretching across much of the south and Mediterranean and is France`s single largest vineyard entity for its Vins de Pays wines. Within the Languedoc lie several distinctly identified Vins de Pays (including the l`Aude, Gard and Hérault) and many generic appellations that maintain traditional local blends and wine styles such as Minervois, Corbières, Pic Saint Loup and Fitou.
Producer
LGI were created in 1999 by forward thinking partners aware of the challenge and opportunity that lay ahead for regional French wines in the competitive international market. Wines are made and blended from three main sources; Saint Chinian in the Herault, Jean d`Alibert in Minervois and from Gascogny. Quality of Languedoc and Gascogne varietals exceeds expectation and presentation is second to none.
Tasting (Long)
A deeply coloured, serious Rhone-like Syrah, immediately alluring with spicy black pepper and dark cherry aromas. Pure yet very ripe fruit fills the palate with mocha, plum and cherry flavours that last on the finish backed by fine tannins.
Tasting (Short)
A deeply coloured Syrah with spicy aromas, pure yet ripe fruit on the palate with mocha, plum and cherry flavours that balance subtle tannins.
Food
This well flavoured red will match roast or grilled meats, hearty casseroles and tagines, sausages, spicy pasta and curry dishes.
