Region

Pfalz region of southern Germany is warmer than the Mosel and ripens a wider variety of varietals. Its wines tend to be fuller in weight and intensity than most German wine. It is planted with Riesling, Muller Thurgau and increasing amounts of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Producer

This is a modern cooperative of some 170 growers. The vines are planted on chalk rich slopes with low yielding old vines, planted in the full sun, to produce dry, oppulent wines with excellent acidity.

Situated on a chalk rich slopes, this vineyard is situated in one of the `grosses gewachs`, which roughly equates to a grand cru. Low yielding old vines produce a dry opulent wine with silky peach perfumed fruit and excellent acidity. Delicate elderflower aromas with ripe pear lead to a crisp lemony palate.
