Region

The Côtes de Roussillon forms the larger area of the French Catalan wine producing region that rolls down from the Pyrenees and Costa Brava to Corbieres and Limoux. Much of it is steep hillsides of limestone, schist and granite planted with Grenache.

Producer

Located on the Pyrenean foothills, in the heart of the Albieres mountain range, the vineyards of Château Montesquieu are raised on gorgeous schist soils. This arid French-Catalan region enjoys cool maritime influences.

Tasting (Long)

Rich red with a ruby rim, the nose reveals a concentration of blackberry and bilberry mixed with hints of laurel, nutmeg and clove. Delicate flavours express the finesse of the soil with balanced sugar, freshness and silky tannins. Integrated oak brings complexity and length.
