This beautiful region is situated 200Km south of Paris and extends west along the high reaches of the Loire River. This is a cold climate northern wine making region and includes the following famous villages; Sancerre, Pouilly Sur Loire, Quincy and Menetou-Salon. There are only two permitted grape varieties, namely, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. The soils have a high percentage of flint and limestone and this results in crisp, aromatic whites and perfumed, elegant rose and reds. Littered with artisan producers, the best single domaine wines are made in small quantities and are of top drawer quality. In recent years, the demand for the best wines in the region has exceeded supply.
The Raimbault family have been vine growers for ten generations and their 35 acre domaine, is located in the Verdigny district in the heart of Sancerre. The vines are planted on steep slopes at 200 - 400 metres above sea level and this offers excellent sun exposure for authenticity and complexity in their wines. Although respecting tradition in the vineyards, they have a `non interventionist` philosophy to allow the grapes the full expression of the terroir. In the cellars, the most up to date techniques are utilised to handcraft modern and truly expressive wines.
This domaine is owned by the Raimbault family who have been crafting top quality wines in the area for generations. Their 35 hectares of vineyards are located around the village of Verdigny in the heart of the Sancerre region. Hand picked and carefully vinified to capture the essence of the `terroir` and then matured on its lees until bottling. The result is a fresh and lively wine with critrus fruit aromas, with elegance and finesse on the palate.

Serve as an aperitif and goes well with crudities, fish and cheese.
