Region

A wide and temperate agricultural region stretching from Venice to Verona and north to the Alpine foothills. In the west around Lake Garda, are the important generic wines - Valpolicella, Soave and Bardolino. Much of Italy`s commercial Pinot Grigio and Merlot is grown further east, but the Prosecco grape makes the region`s distinctly fashionable sparkling wine. However the recent popularity of Amarone and Ripasso has really re-established this region as one of Italy best wine growing areas and quality is out of all recognition from the light carafe wines of the early 80`s.

Producer

The origins of the Fabiano family in the wine business stretch back to 1912, when Francesco Fabiano opened a wine shop in Venice. Today the company operates some 84 hectares of vineyards around Lake Garda and the city of Verona.

Tasting (Long)

Intense garnet red colour with an elegant, spicy and complex nose. This is a full bodied wine with a luxurious mouth-feel. On the palate there are notes of sour cherries with hints of ripe plum, cinnamon and spices. This is beautifully structured wine with very soft tannins and gentle acidity.

Tasting (Short)

This is a full bodied wine with a luxurious mouth-feel and has notes of sour cherries with hints of ripe plum, cinnamon and spices.

Food

Fantastic companion for strong cheeses, roasted venison or pheasant.
