Orange, New South Wales At almost 1,000 metres altitude, the Orange region in the Blue Mountains of NSW, is one of the highest and coolest vineyards in Australia, often exposed to ice and snow. An extended growing period encourages complexity and elegance in the wines. Particularly successful varieties are Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Merlot.
