Olympic deliveries
We have been making plans to ensure continuity of supply during the 6 week period that the London Olympic and Paralympic games take place.
During the two perios - 23rd July to 14th and 27th August to 12th September - there will be considerable disruption to the London road network with a number of roads being restricted to the Plympic Route Network (ORN) and Paralympic Road Network (PRN)with lane closures, restricted right turns and extensive parking and stopping restrictions. These restrictions come into force during the day from 6am until midnight.
We have been advised by Transport for London (TFL) that the transport impacts of the games, especially for deliveries in London, around event venues and on and near the ORN and PRN will be substantial, and deliveries over these periods, where possible, be made during the night, from 12 midnight until 6am.
Therefore Ellis of Richmond has decided that deliveries into central London and SW London will be made between the hours of 9.30pm and 4am. We will be unable to give timed deliveries during this period, but will endeavour to meet your requirements where possible.
We will have vehicles delivering into London on
Mondays nights 9.30pm to 4am
Tuesday nights 9.30pm to 4am
Wednesday nights 9.30pm to 4am
Thursday night 9.30pm to 4am
Fridays No Deliveries (subject to review once the Games begin)
We will have our regular drivers Gordon, Kevin and Russell making the deliveries over this period. The facility to collect from our depot in Hanworth, West London will also be made available during normal office hours, again please give as much notice as possible.
To minimise the impact of these restrictions, we would recommend where possible that you bring in extra stock from Ellis of Richmond before the games start. We understand the uncertainty of sales over this period, but if you can store the wines we will be happy to pick up any excess stock in their original cases after the games are over.
Our last normal daily deliveries will be made on Friday 20th July. Orders received from Friday 20th will be delivered on Monday night onwards as outlined above.
The office will be manned by our customer service team during normal office hours.
However, to ensure delivery that night, you must place your order by noon.

Orders faxed and emailed overnight will not be processed until the next day for delivery the following night.
